We can announce the greatest news ever: under the auspices of Interrex and Acting Interim Rex Sacrorum Cn. Lentulus Alexander, we have performed the Completion of the Founding of Nova Roma at the October Horse celebration among the ruins of Aquincum, on the Ides of October (15 October). Nova Roma has received Her Palladium and Pignora Imperii which from now on, will be protected and venerated as the most sacred divine objects and tokens of the Nova Roman People, the essence and identity, the heart and soul of Nova Roma, on which the safety, welfare, prosperity, victory and good luck of the Nova Roman People depends.

Participants from Nova Roma in Aquincum celebrated the October Horse with observing every single little detail of its ancient tradition. A symbolic horse race was held at the event (with wooden horses, to remember our Trojan ancestors’ fate), where the two wooden horses, and called Felix and Faustus, were carried out by two runners, and these wooden horses were stuffed by a tiny portion of horse meat and horse blood, so that this can be regarded real by Mars, and the winning horse was sacrificed to Mars.

Two groups of participants fought for its head, representing the districts of the Subura and the Via Sacra: the winner team gets the honor to replace the wooden horse head (with some horse blood taints) next year in Rome (the Subura team in the area of the Mamilian Tower in the Subura, the Via Sacra team in the Regia (Royal House) on the forum.

Nova Romans also celebrated with a gladiatorial fight, and a legionary performance.

We have inaugurated and consecrated, under royal auspices, the Nova Roman People, and dedicated it with the sacred contract, to the gods of Rome, with a detailed list of obligations in which our minimum sacra publica will exist. We performed the birth and foundation rites and the founding lustratio under royal auspices, and, there remained only a few “concluding rites” that will be performed next year’s Concordialia (March 1) and Parilia (April 21) in Rome — therefore, to be punctilious, the founding of the Nova Roman People will become “completely complete” on April 21 in Rome. So there is even much more reason for you to come to Rome next year!

This “contract” with the gods, that we made under royal auspices, is based on the tradition, experience and practice of the 20 founding years of the Nova Roman People. This ceremony with the Genius, Lares, Manes, Penates and all the Gods Immortal of the old Roman People of the Quirites constitute now the foundation of the sacra publica of the Nova Roman People, the New Quirites: the text of these “contracts” will be soon published.

Meanwhile, at the NR-allied temple of Iuppiter in Poltava, a parallel ritual was held asking Iuppiter to support and approve the Completion of Founding ceremonies that we were doing at Aquincum. This day was overarching between countries!

At the end, in the name of the interrex and acting rex sacrorum, after the completion of the founding of Nova Roma and the receiving of the Palladium and Pignora Imperii, we proclaimed the Confirmation of the Declaration of Nova Roma, which added a new preamble to the old Declaration, summarizing the effects of our 20 years of Romanitas, including the significance of today’s event, and pointing out the future work that lays ahead. The interrex called the Nova Roman People to vow to be loyal to the Confirmation of the Declaration as the cornerstone of Nova Roma and of all its principles, goals, laws and Constitution. The new preamble will be published as soon as I find time to translate it from Latin.

After the Completion of the Founding, the Confirmation of the Declaration, the interrex, appointed by the People’s vote in the Comitia Centuriata last year, approved by the Senate and religiously elected by the Comitia Curiata, acting through my words at the event, sacrificially, numinously and ceremonially founded, by royal pronouncement, as it was in the case of Romulus and Numa, the Comitia, the Senate, the Collegium Pontificum and Augurum. Not to say these didn’t exist validly this far, but now they exist “even more”, the same way how the ancient ones existed. Now every institution of Nova Roma emanates from the gods’ inaugurated and consecrated approval, enacted by a founding kingly action, at the expressed will and order of the People.

This how the Roman People had to be refounded, and this is exactly we did.

Let’s rejoice and celebrate! We are now complete!
